Jordana Best Length Extreme Lengthening Mascara First Impression

This is a quick first impression review of the Jordana Best Length Extreme Lengthening Mascara.  I purchased this mascara at Walgreens for about $4 and I have to say....this is a really good mascara.   The one I have is 303 Black.

The formula is not overly thick or wet but not super dry either.  It gives my puny little lashes great length, thickens them up and my lashes stay soft during the day...they do not get that brittle hard feel some mascaras give. The brush is rubbery and larger than quite a few other mascaras I have tried.

One of the most important things I look for in a mascara is easy removal.  If I have to work at it, tug, pull or use some extra cleansing item to remove it, then it is not for me.  This mascara stayed in place all day without flaking and removed quite easily with makeup wipes and then just washing my face with soap and water.

I have tried many many mascaras in my day and I think for the price and quality you get, this one is a keeper!

This is the first Jordana mascara I have tried.  I know there is a large cult following of the Best Lash Extreme so I may have to try that one as well.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette Review

What a delicious idea...combining makeup and chocolate!  Yes, the shadows in the palette are actually infused with cocoa powder and the smell is so wonderful!

This is a fabulous palette....the colors are soft and highly pigmented.  The packaging is cool and sleek and the shadows actually smell like chocolate!  Who doesn't love that!  There are a mixture of matte and shimmery colors which I like for the variety.  Be warned however...there are a few colors that have a bit of sparkle so you may not like that or find that not appropriate for work however it is nice to find a palette that includes some matte colors as well.

I think this palette will work on almost everyone unless you have really mature eyes as it is possible the shimmer might be just a bit too much.  I am headed toward the "mature eyes" category but I find I can wear all the colors if I don't over do it and focus more on blending the matte colors in and keeping the shimmery colors on my lids.

These shadows have great staying power and when used with an eyeshadow primer did not crease on me...even after wearing for 12 to 14 hours.  I have also found that the darker colors blend easily for lining your eyes.  Even under my eyes, where I usually have to retouch liner during the day, the colors stayed true for hours.

The packaging feels like plastic tin, sort of like a school pencil box.  It also had a magnetized close so you don't have to worry about securing it.  It has an OK mirror in the lid but not really as large as it could be, so for me, it is just ok.  I never use the mirrors in palettes to apply makeup anyway.

There are 16 colors included with 2 larger highlight colors.  The White Chocolate is matte and the Champagne Truffle is shimmery.  Of all the colors, it appears 5 are matte and the rest are shimmer.

I have done looks using each of these colors in some way, either all over the lid or used in the crease or blended out. My favorite colors so are include Salted Caramel, Triple Fudge, Candied Violet and Crème Brulee.

This palette is sold at Ulta or Sephora for $49.

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog! I wanted to start this site for everyone out there who are serious about their careers...whatever career that is but who are also just a little bit obsessed with makeup and style. How many times have you felt that it was hard to show, or even discuss, that side of you at work for fear of not being taken seriously? For myself, I have always wanted to be a scientist, studied biology in college and work full time in clinical research. Along side this, I still read every issue of Vogue and InStyle, regulary peruse the newest makeup collections out there and generally just get very excited by beauty, fashion and style. I want to talk about careers and beauty without anyone thinking that we have to pick one or the other. We can all be smart, career oriented, stylish women who like to rock some red lipstick! I hope you find this site enjoyable and I hope that you will leave comments as I would love to hear from you! Enjoy!
